China has stepped up the design of its new energy vehicle (NEV) industry to facilitate the sector's high-quality development and consolidate its strong growth momentum.

Digital trade companies from Shanxi province recently gathered in Hangzhou to show the major achievements of Shanxi's digital trade industry and find new partners in the sector.

Multilateral coordination is key for tackling rising debt, climate change, green economy transition, protectionist trade policies and supply chain disruptions, said a report unveiled by the regional economic forum Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) on Sunday.

According to the Shanxi Provincial Bureau of Statistics, the province saw strong economic growth, with provincial gross domestic product (GDP) for the first half of the year reaching 1.17 trillion yuan ($162,43 billion), a growth of 4.7 percent compared to the same period last year.

Shanxi's economic transformation has proven to be a great success over the past decade, especially in ensuring a stable energy supply to the country, promoting high-quality and sustainable local growth and improving the local environment and people's livelihoods, according to Lin Wu, secretary of the Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China.

A launch ceremony for the joint construction of demonstration industrial parks between the Shanxi Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone and Xiaodian district of Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, was held on July 19.
